MgF2Magnesium Difluoride

Magnesium difluoride, otherwise known as sellaite, is an ionic binary compound because it is made of only two elements. The formula is MgF2
This compound is commonly found as a transparent type of glass. It is usually used in telescope lenses and prisms. It is transparent over a very large variety of wavelengths and is tough and polishes well.
