Calcium Carbonate

Calcium Carbonate- The formula is CaCO3 which is a ternary compound.


Calcium carbonate is found in shells of marine animals and snails, chalk, and pearls. It is also used as a food preservative, and is found in toothpaste. Calcium Carbonate has been proven to cause hypercalcemia, metabolic alkalosis, and renal insufficiency.

  1. WOOOOWWWWW, I didn't know any of that. I would have never been able to guess that you could find Calcium Carbonate in marine animals shells.
