Aluminum Sulfate

Aluminum Sulfate is a ternary compound with the formula Al2(SO4)3.


Aluminum Sulfate is used in water purification. Water purification is the process of of removing undesirable chemicals, biological contaminants, suspended solids and gases from contaminated water. It's also used to dye cloth, kill certain kinds of insects and relive pain. Gardeners even use it to increase the acidity of soil.

  2. I knew that it was used to dye cloth, but I did not know it relieved pain or kill certain insects.

  3. It's kind of funny that my chemical Calcium carbonate is used to decrease acidity in soil yet both calcium carbonate and aluminum sulfate are used as pain killers
